Monday July 8–hot town

Genesis Vision made an early departure from their anchorage off Riverdale with light tank barge GM 6508. They passed down the North River to Bayonne IMTT where they were presumably loading a new cargo.
Kimberly Poling came through early as well, heading north with the loaded Edwin A Poling barge.
Oddly, the barge was flying a yellow flag in place of the usual red hazardous cargo pennant. The significance of a yellow flag is unclear, and perhaps the red flag had simply been bleached somehow.
The flag certainly looked more clearly red in the past.
Poling colleagues on the Kristin Poling were heading the other way with Eva Leigh Cutler after discharging cargo in Albany
Coral Coast had a cement cargo from Ravenna heading for College Point, Queens.
FDNY’s 343 boat headed up to the top of the North River, past the bridge. They met Westchester County Police’s boat up there, down from Tarrytown.
An NYPD launch also headed up there, though scanner traffic did not indicate any incidents.
As did the New Jersey State Police.
And the NY State Dept of Environmental Conservation Police, seen here on their way back to the harbor.
DonJon’s J. Arnold Witte was working the DSNY transfer station at Pier 99.
