Observations on the Hudson River as it passes through New York City. The section of the Hudson which passes through New York is historically known as the North River, called this by the Dutch to distinguish it from the Delaware River, which they knew as the South River. CMT’s Erin Elizabeth came up the North River Tuesday, heading for Coeymans with what I believe was probably a cargo of Egyptian salt lightered off a bulk ship in the Upper Bay. They passed the Reinauer Twins/RTC 104 ATB at anchor off North Bergen, NJ. As of Saturday morning, Erin is back in NY Harbor and the Twins appear to be picking up a new cargo at on the Arthur Kill in Port Reading.
