Help is on the way

When we see Moran Towing Corporation tugs leaving the harbor and traveling up the North River beyond the cruise terminal it usually means there is assist work to do at the wallboard plant up in Buchanan, New York. This was the case on Saturday when Margaret and Miriam Moran passed by on their way to help a bulk ship loaded with gypsum dock at the plant.

Margaret and Miriam were both built in 1979 in the same Louisiana shipyard and are veterans of the Moran fleet. The company’s powerful newer tractor tugs were hard at work in the harbor Saturday assisting container ships.
