As the sun rose Wednesday morning, there were only a handful of reminders of the weekend’s festivities left to see on the North River. The South Korean destroyer Munmu the Great remained anchored off Weehawken, while the Coast Guard 65-foot icebreaker icebreaker Hawser was holding on a temporary mooring established for the events off Bull’s Ferry in West New York. Meanwhile, a crew from Miller’s Launch was passing through returning deck barges that had served as boarding platforms for anchored ships.

By 10, a pair of McAllister tugs had arrived to help turn the destroyer out of the ebb for its departure to the south as the Sandy Hook cutter Bonito provided an escort, and Hawser dropped lines and headed for base in Bayonne leaving the buoy behind were it remains nearly a week later.
