The Donjon Marine heavy tug Douglas J (4,800 HP) brought the company’s massive Chesapeake 1000 crane down the North River on Friday, with the low-slung tug J. Arnold Witte providing an escort. The crane was being brought back from a heavy-lift job at the Port of Albany, perhaps moving a piece of heavy GE equipment from the dock to the barge brought north by the Tradewinds tug Carol, with Carol now on her way back down river and heading to the Gulf, though I’m not sure.
