Trito Navigator was inbound on the North River Thursday evening, heading for the Port of Albany. The small 8,137 deadweight ton bulk ship was arriving from Vallvik, Sweden with a cargo of wood pulp for paper mills up north.

Arriving from Sweden
The 387-foot Dutch-flagged cargo ship Trade Navigator moved up the North River in Monday morning rain bound for the Port of Albany. Previous port was Vallvik, Sweden which makes wood pulp or another lumber product a probable cargo. In the photo, the ship is passing an inbound Edgewater ferry off North Bergen.

Continuing a good run

Beautiful weekend conditions continued into Monday, with clear skies, pleasant temperatures and winds building from the southeast. River traffic was fairly moderate. Carnival Magic was in town, loading passengers for an afternoon departure for Bermuda, and Royal Wagenborg’s Virginiaborg passed through after unloading wood pulp in Albany.

Spring Tuesday

Warmer weather and fairly light winds made for nice conditions, with winds out of the northwest swinging around to the south by the end of the day. AT/B traffic on the river was fairly heavy in the afternoon.
